The Vistia wall lamp from Loom Row draws on French retro romance and Nordic restraint in equal measure. Its sculpted, shell-like shade is formed from coloured frosted glass - in beige, brown, burgundy, green or white - and glows with the soft depth only real glass can manage. It measures a graceful 25cm (9.8in) wide by 18cm (7.1in) tall and stands a neat 10cm (3.9in) proud of the wall.
The frosting turns the light buttery, gentle and even, ideal beside a bed, along a corridor or flanking a living-room chimney breast, and each of the five colours tints the glow with its own distinct character: burgundy warm and moody, green garden-fresh, beige and white calm and serene. Choose fixed warm light, white light, or the three-colour version that switches temperature to match the hour.
The shade's fluted edges throw gentle scalloped shadows above and below, giving walls a soft movement that flat fittings never achieve. The compact footprint suits pairs beautifully - fitted either side of a bed, a mirror or a fireplace.
