Sutton reworks a 1970s idea for rooms that live now: stacked, rounded shades in coloured glass and painted finishes, set one above the other so the silhouette has rhythm and the light has warmth. It hangs 30cm across, which is a sociable size, big enough to anchor a four-seat table and small enough to use in pairs over a longer one.

Twelve finishes run from solid colour, orange, taupe, pink, green, white, yellow, red and sage, through to translucent green, brown, amber and smoke-grey glass, which glow when lit and hold their tint when off. Loom Row chose this pendant for kitchens, dining areas and bedrooms where a single considered piece can set the palette of the whole room.

Light comes through and around the layered shades, so the glow is soft and diffused rather than direct; pair it with a warm bulb for the most flattering result. It is a hardwired ceiling fitting for indoor use and should be installed by a qualified electrician. Glass is hand-finished and colours may vary slightly from the images. Dust with a soft dry cloth. Loom Row suggests hanging it 70 to 80cm above the table so the layered shades sit at eye level when you are seated, where their colour reads most richly.
