Remy is a rectangular metal wall light that points its beam downward, which is exactly what you want beside a bed or above a desk: light on the page, not in your eyes. It has its own switch on the body, so it works independently of the room lights and can be turned off without getting up. Loom Row offers it in black, nickel, coppery and chrome to suit different hardware in the room.
The body is 36cm long and under 23cm tall, slim enough for a narrow strip of wall between a headboard and a window. Choose white, warm or natural light depending on how you read: warm for winding down, natural or white for study and detail work. Because the shade is aluminium and fully enclosed, the beam is controlled and does not spill onto a partner's side.
It is hardwired, with a maximum bulb rating of 39W, and should be installed by a qualified electrician. It runs on 110-120V or 220-240V mains. Mount it around 100 to 120cm from the floor beside a bed for the most comfortable reading angle. Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Loom Row suggests the nickel or chrome finish beside pale bedside tables and the black or coppery version against darker wood.
